How to Clean Blender in 30 Seconds?
Follow this method to wash dirt, smell, and gunk off a blender instantly!
What You’ll Need?
- Dirty Blender (Duh! Obviously!)
- Hot water (Not too hot though.)
- Dish Soap (You can use local dish soap.)
Instructions to follow:
1. Pouring Water in the Pitcher:
Pour hot water halfway through the blender’s pitcher. Don’t overfill if you want to avoid any mess.
2. Adding a Drop of Dish Soap:
Add a drop or two of dish soap into the water.
3. Hold the Lid Tightly:
Attach the jug to the base and close the lid. Handle the lid tightly with a towel to prevent spilling of soapy mess.
4. Turn on Blender for 10 to 20 Seconds:
Plug in the blender and run it at high speed for at least 10 to 20 seconds.
5. Rinsing the Pitcher:
Finally, unplug the blender and remove the pitcher from the base.
Empty the jug from soapy water and rinse it again with hot water.
Ta-da! Your blender is now clean and stain-free. Besides, you won’t see any scrubbed food or gunk on the jug after this method.
To Conclude:
Well, the whole process doesn’t take more than 30 seconds. Try this technique whenever you blend a smoothie or puree soup.
Alert: The 30-second hack works the best when you utilize it instantly. It won’t work efficiently on a blender, which has not been cleaned for a long time.
Is this enough?
For immediate cleaning, this hack works like a charm. However, I must say that you should not rely on it to clean a blender thoroughly.
Some deep cleaning methods to help you remove gunk, scrubbed food, and smell from the blender are as follows:
Method 1: Cleaning the Blender’s Jug:
Cleaning a dirty blender’s pitcher or jug or carafe or whatever you call it is one hell of a task.
Here are some quick ways to clean it deeply and make it look new:
1. Blending Dish Soap:
Seems more like the 30-second blender cleaning hack I discussed above.
Anyways, simply fill half of the pitcher with warm or hot water. Pour a drop or two of dish soap in it and blend it for around 30 seconds while keeping a hand on the lid.
Pour out the soapy mixture then and rinse the pitcher with clean water accordingly.
2. Taking Care of Stubborn Stains:
If the stains remain even after blending the appliance with dish soap. Then simply follow this method to get rid of stubborn stains and gunk:
As usual, start with filling the jug halfway and add two drops of dish soap this time.
Chop two to three slices of lemon and add it into the mixture.
Blend the mixture at high speed for a minute or two.
Finally, remove the blended mixture and rinse the jug with hot water.
This treatment will perfectly remove all the stains from the jug. Not only that, but the use of lemon will also remove foul smell from it.
3. Cleaning Blender with Sponge:
The hardened stains and gunk is impossible to remove without utilizing a sponge.
The question, “How to clean blender with sponge?” is thus answered as follows:
First of all, pour a little amount of water and a few drops of dish soap. Let the mixture settle for at least 5 minutes.
Take a sponge, a toothbrush, or a woolen cloth, and start scrubbing the stained areas with pressure.
Repeat the process until the stains disappear completely.
4. Cleaning and Extremely Dirty Pitcher/How to Clean a Blender with Vinegar?
Up till now, if all the methods have failed to do the job, then you need to try this last deep blender cleaning method.
The whole technique involves soaking a blender’s jug for a few hours.
For starters, pour a cup of white vinegar into the pitcher and let it settle for a minute.
Secondly, add a few drops of dish soap.
Finally, add half a cup of baking soda to the mixture and let it settle for 5 minutes.
After 5 minutes, blend the whole mixture at high speed while keeping the lid tight.
Don’t pour the blended mixture instantly. Let it be there for at least 2 hours.
This way, it can easily absorb scrubbed food and harsh stains from the jug.
After a few hours, empty the pitcher and rinse it with hot water.
- To Conclude:
This method could remove scrubbed food, leftover vegetables or fruits, stubborn spots, and stains from carafe conveniently.
5. Allow the Jug to Air-Dry:
After trying all these methods, leave the blender’s jug to dry naturally.
Put it upside down on a drying rack and don’t use the blender until it’s completely dried on its own.

The reason I’ve mentioned so many hacks to clean a jug is that it’s one of the most difficult blender parts to clean.

Method 2: Cleaning the Blender’s Base Effectively:
The base being an important part of the blender needs proper cleaning as well.
Here are few ways in which you can clean a blender’s base perfectly:
1. Wiping the Base with a Soapy Towel:
First off, NEVER WASH THE BASE OF YOUR BLENDER, no matter how dirty it is.
Second of all, make a soapy mixture in a bowl and soak a sponge or a towel in it for a few seconds.
Use the soaked part of the sponge or towel to wipe down the base thoroughly. Don’t leave any nook or corner unwiped. Keep your focus on the gunk or stubborn food that remains.
2. Cleaning the Base Immediately:
Don’t wait for the soapy mixture to settle down. Take a dry cloth and clean the base immediately. The soapy mixture when dried leaves spots and stains that are a headache to clean.
So, clean it off as soon as you are done with wiping.
3. Cleaning the Control Buttons:
Coming towards the control buttons. If they’ve become greasy or dirty, then it means that you need to clean them with due care and diligence.
For this purpose, you’ll need rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip.
Simply soak the Q-tip in alcohol and start cleaning the control buttons. Focus on removing stains and gunk.
Be patient while cleaning the control buttons. That’s because cleaning them is not as easy as you’d expect.
The rubbing alcohol gets evaporated and Q-tip absorbs the dirt easily.
Summary:
Method 2 of how to clean blender effectively sheds light on some easy ways to clean the base and control panel easily.
Use the techniques I’ve shared and give your blender a new look respectively.
Method 3: How to Clean Blender Blades?
Method 3 talks about cleaning the blender blades and gasket (Rubber Ring) effectively.
As things stand, we have cleaned the blender’s jug, its base, and its control panel up till now.
Now, if you think that the blades are still dirty even after cleaning the blender’s jug, then you need to clean them separately.
How?
Follow me:
Removing and Washing Blades Separately:
Unscrew the blades from the pitcher with care and precaution.
Secondly, start scrubbing them with soapy sponge, toothbrush, or a soapy towel.
Remove dirt from them via sponge and then hand-wash the blades with hot water.
Ta-da! It’s that simple.
Using Polident Tablets to Clean Blender Blades:
Polident tablets have quick absorbing properties due to aggressive chemical reactions.
You can use them as an alternative to the technique I mentioned above.
For this purpose, simply unscrew the blades and submerge them into a hot water tub. Drop a single or two Polident tablets and let them absorb gunk for 5 minutes.
You can also use tablets without unscrewing the blades.
Simply pour enough water in the jug to cover the blades. Then, drop two tablets of Polident. Let the tablets settle for at least 30 minutes before rinsing the carafe.
For those who don’t know, Polident tablets are easily available at nearby pharmacies. They are used for whitening teeth and they also act as an anti-bacterial agent.
Summary:
That’s how you clean the blender blades with effectiveness.
But, wait for a second!
We’ve forgotten the blender’s gasket or rubber ring. It also needs proper cleaning from time to time.
Follow these steps to clean and lubricate the rubber ring conveniently:
How to Clean a Blender Gasket?
